Meet Dr. Jay Marley

Dr. Jay Marley was born and raised in Homer, Alaska. In 1992 he graduated from Homer High School and earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America: the Eagle Scout. In 1996 he graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology. The following four years he attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in May of 2000. Upon graduation he received the award from Delta Sigma Dental Fraternity for outstanding Scholastic Attainment and was recognized by the faculty of CWRU with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Marley is a third generation dentist. His office in Homer was established in 1967 by his father and was Homer's first full-time dental office. It has been in continuous service ever since with Dr. Jay Marley joining in August 2000.

Dr. Marley enjoys family dentistry with a dedicated interest to surgery and oral implantology. The remote nature of his practice in Homer has attributed to the incorporation of many advanced dental procedures and techniques. He has attended the Surgical Fellowship Program at the world renowned Misch International Implant Institute and has been awarded Fellowship status there as well as from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists for his achievements in implant dentistry. Most recently, Dr. Marley was awarded the title of Diplomate in the ICOI. It is the highest honor a professional society can bestow on a dental professional involved with implant dentistry. In addition, Dr. Marley has pursued advanced training and is licensed to provide intravenous (IV) sedation. He continues to pursue world-class education for oral implantology and other dental subjects.

Dr. Marley is an active member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, Alaska Dental Society and the Kenai/Kodiak Dental Society. He has served as president and treasurer of the Kenai/Kodiak Dental Society and on the executive council of the Alaska Dental Society.

Outside of the office, Dr. Marley enjoys a variety of activities including fishing, boating, hiking, cycling, kayaking, camping, skiing, snow machining, photography, and flying. He is a commercially rated pilot holding single engine land, sea, and instrument ratings with high performance, complex and tail-wheel endorsements. Dr. Marley lives in Homer with his loving wife, Erica and their three children.
